Not Just a Walk in the Park

All I wanted was a stroll through the Metroparks, and didn’t expect much as I got in the backseat of the car.  But as we were reaching the Arboretum, my dad suddenly glanced out the window and…  well, he noticed a mushroom.

Now a penchant for mushroom hunting is something that runs in the family.  And now that we’d noticed it (even though this particular one was poisonous), our walk in the park dissolved into a foraging expedition.

Many minutes and a few mosquito bites later, we’d carried several frisbee-fulls of mushrooms to the car–enough to fill a bag.  I’m expecting some soup shortly.
